Microneedling

Microneedling, a form of collagen induction therapy, is a non-surgical skin rejuvenation procedure that uses a microneedling device to create tiny punctures in the skin.

Our DP4 Pen, of the top ones on the market, glides over the skin creating millions of fine, vertical fractional channels up to 104% faster than other microneedling pens. These channels can carry up to 80% more topical nutrients deeper into the skin. The micro-injuries trigger a natural process of repair, increasing the production of collagen and elastin and visibly improving a wide range of skin concerns.

Pre-treatment Instructions:

Microneedling (includes PRP Pessions) Pre- & Post-Treatment Instructions

-Avoid Sun Exposure & Tanning – No direct sun exposure, tanning beds, or self-tanning products for at least 2 weeks to prevent post-treatment pigmentation changes. Treatment will not be performed on sunburned skin.

-Discontinue Certain Medications & Supplements – Avoid Aspirin, Ibuprofen (Advil, Aleve), blood thinners, Vitamin E, Fish Oil, and herbal supplements for at least 1 week before treatment to reduce bruising risk. Accutane must be discontinued for 6 months before treatment.

-Pre-Treat Your Skin (Optional for Best Results) – Consider using medical grade skincare inclusive of vitamin C, sunscreen, and retinols for at least 4 weeks pre-treatment.

-Stop Exfoliating & Irritating Products – Discontinue retinols, topical antibiotics, exfoliants, hydroquinone, and benzoyl peroxide 3-5 days before treatment.

-Stay Hydrated & Eat a Healthy Meal – Drink at least 4-6 glasses of water the morning of treatment to ensure skin is well-hydrated (especially for PRP sessions)

-Cold Sore Prevention – If you have a history of cold sores, an antiviral prescription (Valtrex or Famvir) may be recommended to prevent an outbreak.

Post-treatment Instructions:

After your Microneedling (includes sessions with PRP) follow these steps for the best healing and results:

- Redness & Sensitivity is Normal – Expect redness, pinpoint bleeding, and a sunburn-like sensation immediately post-treatment. Swelling & dryness may also occur, and pinpoint scabbing may appear the next day.

-Avoid Touching or Contaminating the Skin – Clean glasses, cellphone screens, and anything that touches your face.

Do not pick or exfoliate – let old skin flake off naturally.

-Avoid Makeup, makeup tools/brushes for 24-48 hours – Only mineral makeup may be applied if necessary. Makeup brushes have dirt that can cause skin to break out with unwanted inflammation.

-Avoid Sun Exposure Until Healed – No sun exposure until redness & flaking subside (preferably 2 weeks)

-Limit Heat & Sweat Exposure – No hot showers, exercise, swimming pools, chlorinated water, jacuzzis, or saunas for at least 3-5 days.

-Pain & Swelling Management – Take Tylenol or Advil as needed, and apply cool compresses every 1-2 hours for 3-5 minutes if necessary.

-Change Your Pillowcase & Maintain Cleanliness – Treat your face as an open wound until healed.

-Follow Your Skincare Routine Post-Healing – Resume normal skin care with actives once the skin has healed (about 5 days later)
